Under the title “FFF - The Forgotten, The Fictional, The Fabricated,” the HOLLEREI Gallery presents Olivier Hölzl in a solo exhibition. Hölzl lives and works in Vienna.
The exhibition examines architectural fantasies and their forgotten remnants by presenting buildings that were never realized or have long since disappeared. The artist fulfills a childhood dream by building a tower from 14,000 Lego bricks, photographing it, and developing it into photo collages of the tallest Lego tower. Visitors are confronted with a multitude of non-existent buildings, depicted through light boxes and postcard collections. The exhibition addresses the influence of patriarchal notions in architecture and encourages reflection on unrealized and neglected buildings, questioning how such dominant visions are already conveyed in childhood.
