Inconspicuous figures in ambivalent situations.

In the exhibition SCHICHTEN (LAYERS), the Hollerei Gallery presents the latest works by artist Ramona Schnekenburger.

Uncannily realistic human portraits, characterised by an intense, raw naturalness. It is not so much the individual personality and characteristics of the portrayed that take centre stage here, but rather human existence itself – including its hidden, dark side.

With oil paint, graphite and coloured pencil on canvas, various papers, and occasionally wood, Schnekenburger draws and paints her protagonists in many layers.
